Issue: Display problems – document looks different in the Safeguard Viewer compared to Acrobat

Example display issue: the original PDF file has a section that contains a black background and this is not displaying in the Safeguard Viewer, or a section is missing that displays OK in the original PDF.

This is because the document contains features that are not compatible with the SDK we use to render the PDF content.

You need to save the PDF file to an older compatible version.

In Acrobat Pro do the following:

From the Document menu > select Reduce File Size > select make compatible with Acrobat 5 (pdf version 1.4).

Note: older versions before Acrobat 4 (pdf version 1.3) do not retain hyperlinks so you will want to select at least Acrobat 5 compatibility.
