FAQ: Granting access rights to the /etc folder

By default, when you run the install for the first time, it will try to create the /etc/LockLizardProtector folder.  To do this, it needs read/write rights to the “/etc” path.

If you are unhappy about granting the LockLizard application read/write rights to the entire /etc directory, you can manually create the LockLizardProtector directory under /etc and give rights to the LockLizard application to just the /etc/LockLizardProtector location.  The LockLizard application will see that the directory already exists, so it will not try to make a new one, but instead it will use the already created one.
